We calculate the carbon footprint of companies, cities, services and events in line with the GHG Protocol , the most widely recognized and globally adopted standard for monitoring the impact of economic activities on climate change.
Using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, we analyse the overall environmental impact of products – from their carbon footprint to other key environmental impact categories.
In response to the growing need for transparent, reliable, and effective communication of climate-related actions, we support our clients in climate communications. These efforts include both internal communications and those directed at stakeholders and the general public.
Our analytics team creates tailored calculation models that take into account the specific context and challenges of individual companies and sectors. Customized carbon footprint calculators help businesses, employer groups, and associations collectively address the need to monitor and reduce emissions.
Sustainability reports submitted by companies subject to mandatory reporting are audited externally to verify, among other things, compliance with ESRS standards. As part of our carbon footprint assessment projects, our Foundation’s experts assist clients in discussions with auditors and in navigating the audit process.
We support companies in joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), helping them prepare and submit their carbon reduction targets in line with the SBTi methodology.
As part of our statutory not-for-profit activities, we support small and medium-sized enterprises in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing energy transformation by providing them with a free carbon footprint calculator.
We support companies and their leaders in planning and successfully implementing decarbonization strategies and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We help businesses build a new dimension of competitiveness – climate competitiveness.
Managing climate risk is now a core element of a responsible and resilient business model. It requires not only safeguards for operations but also a well -considered adaptation strategy. Our Foundation’s experts assist companies in building resilience to climate-related risks through physical risk assessments, impact analyses, and the development of adaptation strategies.
Our guiding principle is Every job is a climate job, because we believe climate issues should not only be acknowledged but widely understood and embraced. That’s why we place strong emphasis on climate education for entrepreneurs, business leaders, journalists, and the public, to build awareness of key processes, dependencies, and the global imperative of achieving climate neutrality.
We support auditors in reviewing sustainability reports submitted by companies subject to the CSRD directive, prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Our focus is especially on ESRS E1, which addresses climate change.
A key part of our statutory mission is addressing climate-related disinformation and greenwashing. We aim to raise broad awareness of these issues—particularly among opinion leaders, journalists, and business leaders. By sharing up-to-date knowledge and case studies, we help build understanding and the skills needed to identify and reduce greenwashing and misinformation.
We help our partners and clients understand how their activities affect the climate and how they can monitor and minimise this impact. We support organisations throughout the entire carbon footprint assessment process — from defining operational boundaries and designing data collection concepts, through gathering data and calculating emissions in a tailored calculation model, to assisting in developing decarbonisation strategies and communicating the results.
Carbon footprints of companies, services and events are calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol, the most widely used methodology aligned with ESRS requirements.
We place a strong emphasis on educating teams, management boards and supervisory boards, as we want every organisation to be able to independently calculate and manage its carbon footprint after completing the project.
We support companies in conducting comprehensive product life cycle analyses using the LCA methodology. We help organisations define the goal, scope and boundaries of the analysis and develop data collection frameworks. This approach allows us to capture the full environmental impact — from raw material extraction, through production and transport, to product use and end-of-life.
Thanks to LCA, companies gain insights into the life cycle stages that generate the highest environmental burdens and a solid foundation for developing effective reduction measures, which we can also help design.
We create customised calculation models tailored to the specific characteristics of each organisation and train their staff, enabling them to carry out LCA analyses independently in the future.
Transparent communication of climate action enhances credibility with clients, investors, and stakeholders. As part of our communication support for joint projects, the Foundation offers services such as climate communication audits, team preparation for sharing outcomes and initiatives, development of materials for media and stakeholders, and training for communication professionals.
Our experts help clients build effective communication strategies for activities aimed at reducing their organization’s climate impact. We also provide guidance on avoiding greenwashing and countering climate-related disinformation.
As part of our carbon footprint projects, we create advanced, customizable calculation models tailored to the needs of each organization. All data entered into the models remains the property of the commissioning organization, which also has full visibility into the emission factors used.
We train staff on how to use, modify, and update these models so that future revisions can be handled independently within the company.
We also support large corporations and industry associations—such as Credit Agricole, ING Bank Śląski SA, Kaczmarski Group, mLeasing, Santander Bank Polska, the Association of Advertising Agencies, and the Polish Leasing Association—in developing carbon footprint calculators and industry-specific standards.
The tools developed in these projects allow companies to calculate their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and identify the key levers for emission reduction.
During the verification of ESG reports, auditors may ask companies detailed questions about the carbon footprint methodology, results, and related aspects. That’s why the Foundation’s expert team involved in a company’s footprinting project takes part in meetings with auditors—providing answers and offering detailed explanations of the applied methodology.
The global Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between four international organizations: CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute, and WWF.
SBTi’s main objective is to support the private sector in taking action against climate change and global warming by setting emission reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science and the Paris Agreement. The initiative defines and promotes best practices for setting science-based targets and provides independent assessment and validation of company commitments.
Our Foundation supports companies in setting targets, developing strategies, and guiding them through the process of joining the SBTi.
Our free carbon footprint calculator helps smaller businesses take the first step toward reducing emissions. This open-access tool enables companies to calculate their emissions across all three Scopes (1, 2, and 3), helping them understand their climate impact and identify ways to reduce it.
The calculator not only raises climate awareness among entrepreneurs but also strengthens their climate competitiveness, which, in light of the CSRD directive, is already becoming (or will soon become) a critical factor for many SMEs within supply chains.
Striving for climate neutrality and reducing carbon footprint, while building climate competitiveness, should be a priority for Polish companies. Unfortunately, as shown in our analyses and reports, that’s not always the case. Meanwhile, the gap in climate management between Polish firms and their international competitors and partners continues to widen.
This can lead to significant risks, including the loss of business partners and market access, declining revenues and profits, and difficulties in securing financing. An effective decarbonization strategy must take into account a complex regulatory, social, and economic landscape involving nearly all stakeholders.
Our Foundation’s experts and analysts support companies in developing comprehensive decarbonization strategies and tailored action plans aimed at reducing and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Each project is approached individually, as every company has different reduction levers depending on the structure of its carbon footprint.
We help our partners define key assumptions, plan and implement decarbonization actions step by step, and monitor their impact, ensuring that climate efforts deliver maximum value.
Extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, droughts, floods, and wildfires are becoming more frequent and intense, impacting not only the environment but also the day-to-day operations of companies, from infrastructure to employee safety. Rising temperatures, destabilized weather patterns, and the increasing unpredictability of extreme events disrupt production, logistics, and resource availability, directly threatening business continuity.
More and more companies are facing challenges such as disrupted supply chains, flooded facilities, and damaged infrastructure. These issues cost not only time and money but also the trust of business partners and customers.
Measuring and reducing emissions requires the engagement of all employees, regardless of their role or department. Activities related to carbon footprinting and emissions reduction can influence how a company is managed and often involve additional tasks, such as collecting the data necessary for calculations.
That’s why building climate awareness within the organization and understanding the urgency of effective reduction efforts is essential. In our experience, companies whose leadership teams have a strong grasp of climate issues are more effective at motivating their teams and navigating the processes of carbon footprinting and decarbonization.
Our Foundation’s experts support clients in this journey, helping employees understand the complexities of climate change, the company’s environmental impact, and the practical steps toward reducing that impact.
We deliver webinars and training sessions for executive teams, supervisory boards, PR and marketing departments, and entire organizations. Additionally, as part of our statutory mission, we conduct educational initiatives on carbon footprinting, climate disinformation, and greenwashing, targeting opinion leaders and decision-makers.
Our Foundation supports auditing firms in reviewing corporate sustainability reports. Our role is to ensure that these reports align with the ESRS standards and to identify any areas that may require improvement.
Climate disinformation and greenwashing have emerged as challenges alongside the growing focus on sustainability. Their greatest risk lies in delaying genuine climate transformation. That’s why our Foundation is committed to addressing both issues through education and the promotion of effective regulation.
We also participate in the work of regulatory bodies—including those developing industry self-regulation—while educating companies and opinion leaders on these topics. We are the initiators of projects such as the Climate Knowledge Database, the Poland for Climate platform, and climate-focused journalist working groups.
The Climate Economy Forum brings together large companies operating in Poland with extensive supply chains, making them representatives of a significant portion of the Polish business community. In doing so, the Forum becomes a strong collective voice for business on climate transition, as well as a platform for sharing knowledge and experience.
In the face of the climate crisis, the business sector has a critical role to play. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, companies can significantly lessen their environmental impact, slow the pace of climate change, and help mitigate its consequences. Moreover, large companies have the power to influence smaller partners by supporting their understanding and implementation of sustainability principles.
